Use of the 33rd Amendment IMDG Code became mandatory January 1, 2008. The 34th Amendment IMDG Code is effective January 1, 2009 and mandatory January 1, 2010. While specific mandatory training requirements have not yet been enacted, many companies are electing to follow the guidelines as established by the Department of Transportation: initial training to be received within 90 days of employment/change of job function and recurrent training every 3 years.
Course Description:
Navigating the IMDG Code, definitions, training, units of measure, identification, marine pollutants, hazardous waste, marking, labeling, placarding, limited quantities, mixtures and solutions, documentation, packaging requirements, packaging dangerous goods together, stowage and segregation.
